About Smith Hall

Smith Hall, completed in 1940 and designed by Coolidge and Carlson of Boston, is a substantial upper-division residence at 250 College Street organized into three connected sections (South, Middle, North), each containing two-room doubles for a total of 96 beds. The three sections share a spacious first-floor lounge, seminar room, laundry room, and kitchen, giving the hall a community feel within its suite corridors. Renovated in 2016 to restore its original two-room configuration, the building was funded by Dr. George Carroll Smith, Class of 1876.
