Boswell Hall is one of the original North Quad residence halls, a two-story building housing up to 72 residents in double rooms. Rooms open directly to the outdoors rather than to interior hallways — a defining feature of all four North Quad halls that gives the area a bungalow-like feel. Every four rooms share a bathroom with two showers, toilets, and sinks, a true suite arrangement. Boswell's north side faces the San Gabriel Mountains and includes a large grassy area with tiered wall seating that draws students from across campus for informal gatherings. Like the other North Quad buildings, Boswell does not have in-room air conditioning, though a shared air-conditioned lounge provides relief on hot Southern California days.
