About Claremont Hall

This corridor-style Mid Quad hall houses approximately 59 residents in air-conditioned double and triple rooms and is part of the BCB complex — physically connected to Berger and Benson Halls — making it one of the most foot-traffic-rich buildings in the center of campus. The hall is gender-inclusive (roommates and neighbors may be of any gender) and is home to the largest lounge and laundry facilities on campus, as well as Janie's Kitchen, a student-accessible kitchen established in 2015. A central outdoor courtyard with amphitheater-style patio seating serves as a social hub. The building was constructed in 2015 and was known as Claremont Hall until it was renamed Valach Hall in 2022 to honor donors Janie and Ken Valach ('82).
