About Fayetteville State University

Fayetteville State University is a public historically Black university and constituent institution of the University of North Carolina System, located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Founded in 1867 by seven Black men, FSU is one of the oldest public HBCUs in the American South and the second oldest public university in North Carolina. The university serves a diverse student body with strong military ties given its proximity to Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg).
