Burton Hall is a three-story first-year residence on the north side of campus with capacity for approximately 185 students. Its location offers quick access to the North Quad, Stevenson Dining Hall, and the Jesse Philips Physical Education Center. Burton has vaulted ceilings, large windows, and a warmer aesthetic than many cinderblock dorms, giving it a homey feel students appreciate. Amenities include study lounges, three music practice rooms, and laundry facilities; the basement houses the Oberlin Review student newspaper and The Grape, the alternative student press.
